What is Charcoal?

Charcoal is a centrally hosted Squid proxy URL Redirector, with an API driven helper.

It is made for environments where proxy servers are distributed across multiple locations leading hurdles in managing access and blocklists.

Charcoal provides a way to manage blocklists and rules using a single window. Default configuration includes 70+ categories of frequently updated domain blocklists, with facility to let you create your own custom access control lists (ACL). ACLs could be department wise, like only human resource accessing marketing, social media and job portals while developers able to freely access their developer related toolings.

Charcoal is already deployed in production across on 1000+ proxy servers.
